National Korean Studies Seminar

This seminar will be held for the 13th year at the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles from June 26 to June 30, 2017 and will be free for all participants.

Lectures, presentations, and activities include:
Korean art, history, language, literature, martial arts, music, philosophy and religion / K-12 Common Core State Standards and AP History / Deepen understanding of Korean American students and families / Free books and resources for K-12 public & private school educators / 30+ PowerPoint lectures / Korean food and cooking class / Korean films for classrooms / K-POP / Taekwondo & self-defense / Create Korean folk art, Korean kite and how to make Korean wrapping cloths / Traditional tea ceremony / Korean traditional costume “Hanbok” Show / Korean War Veterans Ceremony at the Friendship Bell, San Pedro / Learn about studying, travelling and teaching in Korea / Free parking and lunch each day … and more.

This Seminar offers a vital academic program and is the only program on Korean history and culture and the Korean American experience that is organized by classroom teachers. Directors Mary Connor and Sung Kim have a combined experience of 60 years in the field of education and have organized over 100 days of workshops on Korea throughout the United States. Administrators, teachers, counselors, and librarians from more than 60 private and public schools all across the country have attended our programs.
